Julie Bielenberg is a Denver-based writer. She has three young children aged eight years and under—Hank, Dora and baby Addy. Have baby will travel! Bielenberg and her family are on the road 80 to 90 nights a year in search of travel and leisure activity for outlets and assignments.
Julie has been creating and producing content for two decades. Her editorial skills are complemented by a BA in Journalism (Public Relations and Broadcast News) from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and a MA from the University of Colorado at Denver in Humanities (Intercultural Communications).
Julie contributes over 75 travel stories per year to various outlets including: AAA, USA Today’s 10Best, Cowboys & Indians, Family Vacation Critic, Aspen Magazine, The Broadmoor, Colorado Meetings + Events, Mile High Mamas, Colorado Parent, Mountain Magazine and many more.
She is the State’s #1 agritourism writer, covering more ground and events and publishing in more outlets than any other Coloradan journalist. Julie travels in search of fields, farms, families and more. Sometimes . . . she finds herself in often uncovered, or understated locales, which has since become her niche.
Julie is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) and on the site committee for the Western Chapter. She is one of the youngest editorial members of SATW in North America and solidified this position as the limbo champion at the Freelance Council Meeting in Trinidad and Tobago in September 2016. Through SATW, Bielenberg travels with some of North America’s most accomplished and inspiring travel writers and photographers. From a 10-week old at Mardi Gras to three generations in Santa Fe for a Western Chapter Meeting, SATW allows Julie the opportunity to one day become North America’s most prolific agritourism journalist.
